Senior Dashboard ("we," "us," or "our") provides a simple, always-on dashboard that family members set up to show a senior relative's notes, reminders, weather, and calendar. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Senior Dashboard, we collect:

  • Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
  • Household information you provide: the name you enter for your senior parent, their zip code (used only to look up local weather), and the text of any notes you create.
  • Google Calendar information, if you choose to connect it: your connected Google account's email address, the names of your calendars, and the titles and times of events on the calendar(s) you select to display.
  • Basic technical information: standard web server logs (such as IP address and request timestamps) used for security and troubleshooting.

How We Use Google User Data

Senior Dashboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request read-only access to your Google Calendar solely to display the events you choose on your dashboard. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not share it with any third party except as necessary to provide this feature to you.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above only to operate Senior Dashboard for you, specifically to:

  • Display your household's notes, reminders, weather, and calendar events on your dashboard.
  • Authenticate you when you log in and keep your account secure.
  • Send you account-related emails, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.
  • Look up current weather conditions for the zip code you provide, via a third-party weather service.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing to third parties.

Your Public Dashboard Link

Each account gets a unique, hard-to-guess link that shows the dashboard without requiring a login — this is what makes it usable on a senior relative's tablet. Anyone who has this link can view the information on that dashboard, so treat it like a shared bookmark: only share it with the device it's meant for. You can generate a new link at any time from your account settings if you're ever concerned the old one was shared too widely.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in an encrypted database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Google account tokens are encrypted at rest. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the information below and we'll process your request.

Cookies

We use a single cookie to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Children's Privacy

Senior Dashboard is intended for use by adults setting up a dashboard for a family member, and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
